ANGKORIAN THAILAND

4-DAY (3 nights)  TP-7
 
Departure daily by private transport only.
 
Day 1, Bangkok-Korat
          At 7.30 a.m.  Departure from the hotel for Ayudhya,
which until 1767, was the capital city of Siam, to visit its
ruined palaces and temples. Hence we drive to the town
of Korat, for lunch and check in at the SIMA THANI HOTEL.
          Later this afternoon, we drive further north on the
Friendship Highway to reach Pimai, a magnificent ruined Khmer
shrine, sometimes called “The Angkor of Thailand”, you will
marvel at the exceptional beauty of its carved bas-reliefs.
 
Overnight in Korat and evening at leisure. (L.)
 
Day 2, Korat-Surin
 
          At 7.30 a.m.  Departure from the hotel to visit yet
another spectacular Khmer relic of a glorious past. The splendid
Wat Phnom Rung that overlooks the plain from its choice
location atop a hill, we will also visit the ruined city of
Muang Tham.
         
Lunch will be served here.
 
          In the afternoon we drive to Surin, en route visiting
the “Elephant Village”, for accommodation at the
THONG TARIN HOTEL. (B.L.)
 
Day 3, Surin-Nakorn Nayoke
 
           At 8.00 a.m.  Departure from the hotel to visit the beautiful
Wat Pluang; hence we will drive to the Kao Yai National Park, home
to some wild elephants, tigers, deer etc, to spent the night at the
restful and peaceful KAO YAI GRANDVIEW THANI RESORT.  Later
this evening we will, on the back of a truck, take a safari into the park
 to seek its wildlife. (B.L.)
 
Day 4, Nakorn Nayoke-Bangkok
 
          At 7.30 a.m.  Departure from the hotel for Bang Pa-In where
you will visit the Summer Palace of the Kings with its fabulous Chinese
Pavilion, housing some Royal Memorabilia, and, around noon, board an
air-conditioned cruiser to sail down the Chao Phraya River; buffet-lunch
will be served on board. Upon arrival in Bangkok you will be transferred
 back to your hotel. (B.L.)
