BANGKOK-CHIENGMAI OVERLAND

Departure daily by private transport only.
Day1, Bangkok-Pitsanuloke
At 8.00 a.m. Departure from the
hotel heading north to soon reach Saraburi where you will visit the
very beautiful Wat Phra Buddha Bart and see its Lord’s
footprint, then on to the Ayudhya’s
outpost of Lopburi, to there visit the ruins of King Narai’s
Palace, now a National Museum, the grandiose Wat Mahatard, the 3
Prasards, the Monkey Shrine and Constantin Phaulcon’s
Residence. Lunch will be served here.
In the afternoon, you will make a stop on Nakorn Sawan where
you take a fascinating boat trip on the Nan River which is lined with
boathouses underneath most of which fish is being raised, visit a
countryside temple where semi-wild monkeys are to be fed. In the
evening you will reach Pitsanuloke for accommodation at the AMARIN
LAGOON HOTEL.

Day 2, Pitsanuloke-Tak
At 8.30 a.m. Departure from the hotel to visit the well
known Wat Phra Jinaraj that shelters a unique Buddha Image, and we
then drive to the first Thai capital city, Sukothai, to visit its
archeological ruins, now a World Heritage Site protected by UNESCO.
Lunch will be served here.
In the afternoon we drive to Tak for accommodation at the
WIANG TAK HOTEL. Evening at leisure. (B.L.)
Day 3, Tak-Lampang
Early morning we will visit a quaint Muser hilltribevillage.
Lunch will be served at the hotel in Tak.
In the afternoon we proceed to the Northern outpost of the
Sukhothai era, Sri Sachanalai, where you will get a better general
view of the layout of cities of those long gone days. We then drive to
Lampang for accommodation at the LAMPANG WIENGTHONG HOTEL.

Day 4, Lampang-Chiangmai
Today we take it easy and this morning we will visit the
town by horse-drawn-carriage, to see some temples, already of Burmese
architectural style, such as the Wat Phra Keo Don Tao and the Wat Phra
Tahrt Lampang Luang
After lunch at the hotel, we resume our northwards drive and
on the way to our final destination we make a stop in Lampoon and at
the glittering Wat Haripoonchai. Upon reaching Chiangmai, you will be
dropped off at the hotel of your choice.
