We take in during this sightseeing tours the three most
spectacular “Wats” in Thailand and our first stop will be at the
Wat Traimitr to see the huge gold
Buddha Image dating form
the Ayudhaya period, but that was rediscovered on
1954 only.
We then proceed to the largest temple in town, namely the
Wat Po to see its colossal reclining
Buddha Image and unusual
stone carving that originally came form China. Wat Po was at its
origins the first University in this country, and today it still has
a
faculty of traditional medicine.
We move next door from here and enter the
Regal Walled – City, or
the Royal Grand Palace, to see its
unique
Wat Phra Keow that includes the Royal
Chapel housing
the Emerald Buddha Image, the
Pantheon of the Chakri Kings,
and much more, all competing with each other with gold, colors
and temple bells.
To end
this busy morning, we enter the residential area of the Palace and its
beautiful
Coronation Hall, seeing also some interesting Royal Collections.
